Nargis Library Recovery is a Seattle-based 501c-3 non-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding libraries and providing books for the people of Myanmar (Burma) whose homes and lives were destroyed by Cyclone Nargis. Accessing global science-based knowledge is becoming an evident need as government and society regains interest in improved international relations. We are working to create the Myanmar Foundation for the Future, in partnership with Myanmar Engineering Society [MES] to speed up global access of objective science reports.
Your donations are tax-deductible.
Since 2008 we have distributed 850,000 books to 900 libraries throughout Myanmar, including 220,000 Myanmar language texts and references for primary schools..
By the end of 2014 we expect to have shipped and distributed one-million books donated mostly by Thrift Books.
